RIA Culture

Character and academic excellence are woven into our daily life through mindful practices, student-led assemblies, and a deep-rooted commitment to social values.

Reliance - A Culture-Based Progressive School

RIA Culture reflects the school’s deep commitment to holistic education, where academic excellence is thoughtfully balanced with character building and personal growth. It is a culture that seamlessly blends rich Nepali values with respectful school traditions, creating an environment where students feel grounded in their roots while being prepared for a global future.
Mindfulness is an integral part of daily life at RIA, encouraging students to develop self-awareness, emotional balance, and a sense of inner discipline. Creativity is actively nurtured through various platforms that allow students to explore their talents, think independently, and express themselves with confidence. At the same time, the school places strong emphasis on responsible citizenship—guiding students to act with integrity, show empathy toward others, and contribute positively to their community.

The Six Pillars of RIA Culture

Theme of the Month

Each month at RIA is guided by a specific value, helping students practice character development in a structured and meaningful way. These monthly themes are integrated into classroom learning, assemblies, and co-curricular engagemen

Namaskar Culture

RIA encourages students and staff to greet each other with “Namaskar,” promoting respect, humility, courtesy, and pride in Nepali culture. This simple daily practice strengthens a warm and respectful school environment.

Thematic Assembly

Thematic assemblies give students an active platform for speeches, skits, reflections, and presentations. This helps build confidence, communication skills, leadership, and self-expression.

One Term, One Book Review

Students are encouraged to read at least one non-academic book each term and write a reflective review. This builds reading habits, analysis, comprehension, and communication skills beyond the curriculum.

Donation Culture

Donation drives and social service activities help students practice empathy, generosity, and civic responsibility. This culture supports the school’s goal of shaping students with both intellect and a virtuous heart.

Two-Minute Meditation

A short meditation at the beginning of classes and formal meetings helps students and staff settle their minds, improve focus, and begin learning with calmness and intention.

At RIA, values are not taught only in theory—they are practiced month by month. The Theme of the Month framework helps students connect everyday learning with habits and attitudes that shape their future.
